Hi,
I've created my blog http://ahmedkhatab.blogspot.com/ for building teaching skills through the interactive web.
I've learned through step by step instruction how to create a blog.
I can now create a blog for my class to show and exchange their views and activities.
Best wishes

Welcome, Ahmed, to our online community.
ReplyDeleteAs your course partner, I would like to see your comments on how easy or difficult it was to create this, your first blog. On the other hand, it would be interesting to read your ideas on how you are planning to use your blog for. I will look forward to further reading your comments or postings in the near future.
Being this your first step to exchange teaching views and learning activities, I want to encourage you to do so, to benefit us, your course partners and colleagues, and your very own students, who will definitely enjoy online tasks that will turn into really productive language learning.
Recieve my best regards from Costa Rica,
Jonathan
Hi Ahmed,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you also created your first blog. As Jonathan says, we will all benefit from reading each other's blogs and get new ideas on how to use blogging in our teaching.
Best wishes,
Nina
Hi, Ahmed,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for creating your blog. It's very attractive. Obviously it hasn't been a very easy task, it wasn't for me, either. We'll have the opportunity to share ideas and views how to make the classroom a more attractive place for students to learn. This is why we are participating in this wonderful course.
Best wishes,
Zlatka
Dear Ahmed,
ReplyDeleteThis is good to see you as course partner. While creating blog, I was a bit nervous. I was not sure actually what I was doing.Following Iraq's e- learning, I tried to do it. Instructions were coming to me to fill up. I was putting my information. Finally I had been able to do it.
It looked amazing when I saw my name on the web.
Look forward to receiving your insight about your country's perspective teaching.
Wishing you a happy new year!
Md. Mahamud Hasan
Dear Ahmed,
ReplyDeleteI second Jonathan's remarks - this is a good start, and I'm looking forward to hearing more about your plans for using blogs, either for yourself or in teaching.
Yours,
Deborah
Thank you Deborah and Jonathan for your comments.
ReplyDeleteHere is my expectation for using this blog involving my students:
Hello everyone,
As I said before I am from Egypt. I work at Toukh Dalaka Secondary School. It's an authorized school (Quality and Accreditation). This year I teach Level 11 (secondary Year Secondary). The course I teach includes some projects. My school has an internet Lab and four electronic Halls. So the internet is accessible in my school. Because the place is not an urban area, only two thirds of my students have e-mails and can log on the internet. The blog I created in Week 1 can be used by my students to:
1- upload /attach parts of the projects they are doing.
2- attach more pictures or important websites about a unit they study.
3- upload PPT presentations they prepare
4- Launch polls or puzzles
5- upload well-written composition or outstanding pieces of writing on topics they study
6- suggest new ideas for further activities
7- raise questions they need answers to
8- comment on or even criticize the I teach
9- express their own needs in learning
However, the proper time for using this blog for home assignment hasn't come yet. About 33% of my students wouldn't be part of it. This needs lots of efforts by teachers of different subjects to raise the students' awareness using technology in teaching and learning. I am ready for it.
Please accept my BEST REGARDS
Ahmed Khattab
Hello, Ahmed.
ReplyDeleteNow that I have a chance to see your insight on how blogs can be used, I have to agree with you on the endless possibilities blogs give us teachers. And I would really like to see, in the near or far future, well-written compositions by your students in Egypt.
Even though 33% of your students wouldn't be part of a blogging project, I do believe that it is worthwhile trying with the remaining 67%. Perhaps this 33% would get interested or find the means to become part of your project, wouldn't they??
I honestly have to say that I like your ideas on blog use.
Best regards from Costa Rica,
Jonathan
Dear Ahmed,
ReplyDeleteI said in one of my posting you are so lucky because the equipment and the related skills, so much the better.
I am still at the level of learning the basics of computer and Internet uses; however I am kind of satisfied with what I have already learned so far about computers and Internet owing to all of you.
I am eager to learn how to paste a picture on my blog before giving describing my profile. I am sure I can on the classmates and you particularly.
